Trying to Tame the Wild West Here in Texas

Did you know that ACI has dedicated Committees and Sub-Committees when it comes to concrete pools? If you do, then you are ahead of the game! We will go over some of those documents from those committees and the “newly released” ACI PRC-506.8-24. The meeting will also address what to expect in the newly formed ACI 322 and other related information about concrete swimming pools.

Speaker: Juanjose Armenta-Aguirre, COO, Texan Gunite

Juanjose is a second-generation "gunite guy". He's been in the dry process shotcrete industry since 1999 alongside his father, Juan Armenta (the other guy in the picture). In 2012, he co-founded Texan Gunite and is the COO. He's an ACI Certified Shotcreter and an associate ACI Certified Shotcrete Inspector. He's an active committee member of ACI 304, 524, 506 & 322, where he's the subcommittee chair for materials and durability. He was on the American Shotcrete Association board of directors from 2020 to 2026 and is currently committee chairman for Membership and Marketing. He is a PHTA Certified Pool Inspector & Certified Pool Operator, and is the current President of the Central Texas PHTA Chapter and is on the PHTA Builder Council.
