Michael Whisonant PE FACI is the Vice President of Technical Service for the Cement and Ready‐Mix Division of Martin Marietta. He has more than 30 years of experience in Construction Materials Industry including; Ready Mixed Concrete, Precast Concrete, Aggregate, and Cement. He holds a Bachelors in Engineering Technology from the University of Dayton and a Master of Engineering from the University of Florida. He is currently licensed as a Professional Engineer in six states and is the author of several articles on Construction Materials Technology. He is a Fellow of ACI, where he is a member of ACI 207 on Mass and Thermally Controlled Concrete, ACI 211 on Proportioning Concrete Mixtures, and 301 on Speciations for Concrete Construction. He is also a member of ASTM C‐1 on Cement, C‐9 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates, and E‐36 on Accreditation and Certification as well as various subcommittees of each.
